Here Comes the Son
Sebastian Abraham Davis Hemming was born after five hours of labour via a drug-free water-birth at 4:48 AM on February 23rd 2006, weighing in at 10 lbs., 7 oz. Both mother and baby are doing fine.

The tyke, whom my daughter calls "Baby 'Bastian", is napping with my wife. He hums while he sleeps. He gave us a night with more awake than asleep in it for us (and worse for my wife than me, obviously), but all in all he seems like a pretty content little fellow so far.

Congrats all around! Good luck to "Baby Bastion" growing up and to you and littlestar as parents! And give my regards to popsicle as well. She has the incredibly difficult task ahead of her of not only having a little brother (They're tough, i've got one), but being an older sibling and furthermore being the oldest.

I think we would read him the delightful, intelligent and morally instructive German book by Michael Ende, rather than subject him to the oddly abridged and morally ambiguous American-German movie by Wolfgang Petersen.
I loved the movie as a kid, but the book -- well, the book is holy.
